Yesterday a few friends of mine decided to have a PS3 LAN-party and play a 2 PS3 splitscreen setup of the Zombies mode of Black Ops. Though it didn't turn out the way we planned, we still had a lot of fun.
As we all know, with every LAN party comes at least ONE problem. It could be that the computers aren't picking each other up on the network; someone could have the incorrect version of the game and needs to download a huge patch; or it just doesn't work out the way it was planned. Yesterday was a basic all-rounder. We couldn't pick each other up, we had the wrong versions and needed to patch it up, but ultimately: when we did get it to work, the one last player on the second PS3 could not get into the game for some weird reason. SOOOO... we had to compromise and play a 3-man game. That didn't last too well either because I started lagging and teleporting all across my screen and the map. That wasn't too fun, so we just decided to have 2 different games of zombies running. That was fun, hearing people cheer us on when the one party went down, playing the box to see what random gun we would get, screaming with joy when we got the thundergun or ray gun. It was all a lot of fun.
I think, what made last night (and any LAN party) fun, is the company you are with.
What are your awesome LAN stories?

i've never been to an LAN party before, but maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteOur university hosted a LAN party in the computer lab with about 100 computers. We played games like BF2 with completely full 64-player rooms and it was so fun.
ReplyDeleteSounded like a blast.
ReplyDeleteNice xD
ReplyDeleteFor me umm back when halo 1 and halo 2 were around oh the memories.

I wish to see this in my country!
ReplyDeletesounds like a lot of fun
ReplyDeleteUsed to have a lot of fun lanning, but most games these days require that you have an internet connection to play them, or you have to buy it to play online. Only lan games I still kinda play are CS and war3 =[

ReplyDeleteNever really had one, sounds like a good time though.
ReplyDeleteI gotta say I've never been to a LAN sounds like a fun experience though
ReplyDeleteHehe, aw man, LAN parties are such a nostalgia inducer today. They've quickly went the way of arcades.
