An Update about PSN

Hey there again guys. As you know, PSN has had an "external intrusion" about a week ago. I know that it's caused a lot of rage(with me especially), but Sony says they ARE working to fix it.

I'm just going to put the most important thing out there first. According to Sony, our credit card info was encrypted and though it was stolen, it couldn't be read. So the possibility that our credit card info is safe is VERY likely. But as Sony said(and I recommend everyone do this ASAP), it is recommended that everyone keeps track of their credit card transactions over the course of PSN being down as there is still a TINY chance the hackers got our card info. So just to be on the safe, just keep track and report to the bank as SOON as there was a transaction you didn't do.

On the downside, our address information was not encrypted. So hackers currently have access to our residential and postal info. But really, what're hackers going to do with that beside send prank pizza's over.

Anyway, Sony said they're working hard on getting PSN back up and running for heir loyal gamers. They said it'll probably take a week or so, so lets just keep our fingers crossed.

Here's the link to Sony's Playstation blog ig you wanna read more

  8. Data being encrypted = as good as being out in the open. Hackers don't care if it take 2 days or 200 days to crack, if they know that it's credit card data they WILL find a way.

    I'm so happy I don't have a PS3 right now.

  14. I'd have wigged out if I saw that my account was compromised. I'm really paranoid about that, potentially having access to my credit card.
