Well, i just got back from the doctor's office. He says i'm alright and that i can go study medicine with no fears.
Funny thing though. He PLEADED me not to study medicine. He told me himself that he was regretting becoming a doctor because he's flooded with work and the cash he receives compared to other occupations is ridiculous. He told me it's not worth it and said i should take something worthwhile.
So now the Game Designer option is looking pretty good right now. I'll look more in to it and decide for myself. But the favours are tipping in the direction of gaming.(thank god)
Thanks for the support guys. Keep on commenting and just being awesome! LaG on.
Baka
Game designer does sound like the funner job to me.
ReplyDeletemedicine is the best i think.
ReplyDeleteGame designing is high in demand too
ReplyDeletedealing with sick people you dont need it gaming is much more fun
ReplyDeleteDoctors actually don't get paid enough for their job. You'd have to become a surgeon to start making decent money but the risk is so high.
ReplyDeleteHope your feeling better, it's good to hear there's nothing wrong.
ReplyDeleteSucks for the doctor to live his life with regret about his career but just cause' he regrets it doesn't mean you will. Although it looks like your happy with game design, haha.
medicine is a jammed field, and the incurred costs for the education will likely not be replenished for the rest of your life, unless youre lucky in finding a position.
ReplyDeleteI've also heard the same thing from some friends who went into medicine - that they regret it. Being a Game Designer would be pretty awesome though, unless that would make you not enjoy playing games anymore; like some people begin to hate the area that they work in - then it just wouldn't be worth the sacrifice ;>
ReplyDeleteGame Designer sounds awesome :D Good luck deciding, personally I would go for game design, seems so chill ^^
ReplyDeleteGo be a doctor!
ReplyDeleteGame designer sounds fun, but keep in mind tons of other people aspire to do the same thing. Its like wanting to be a singer, actor, etc. Of course, if its your passion then go for it!
ReplyDeleteLag on!
ReplyDeleteDon't know if serious.
ReplyDeleteYou could always go into making the drugs. Prescription drugs are always going to be around, pretty stable job.
ReplyDeleteYou should do the thing you can imagine to live with. Something that you are really obsessed with. Probably game designer would be the better thing.
ReplyDeletePoor doctor is depresessed D:
ReplyDeleteI think you have to choice the best for you :)
ReplyDeleteGame designer could turn into burger flipper pretty fast if you can't find a company to hire you whereas there's always an opening for a doctor.
ReplyDeleteMmmm i think Game designer is better for you bro :), and dont worry,i will try to get Psp go games on my blog :)
ReplyDeletePlumbers makes more money then anyone
ReplyDeleteGetting rich as game designer? WRONG. It's one of the worst paid business around with very high risk of going down.
ReplyDeleteI would recommend you software designer.
I'm actually doing Pre-Med right now :D
ReplyDeleteplumbers!
ReplyDeletefollowed.
Medicine is a good career, take your time to decide...
ReplyDeleteGo for game designer, much more cooler than save lives, seriously.
ReplyDeletegood luck with it!
ReplyDeletepoor doctor
ReplyDeletei don't know where you live, but i have friends working in the two industries.
ReplyDeletethe ones that work in video games I barely ever see. they're overworked, overstressed but definitely not overpaid. if you're a developer your creativity is 0 because the upper management (producers & al.) are the ones making the decisions. it's also very competitive and the market is pretty saturated.
with medicine the amount of work and the money you'll make really depends on your specialty. my girlfriend works in ER and she has crazy shifts, but then again she managed to get an arrangement and only works a few weeks per year (the money she makes then is enough for the whole year).
Just my 2 cents; but I guess you'll be working your ass off in both directions ;p
My teachers used to do the same thing. Everytime I'd be talking about finding a career they would just say "whatever you do don't become a teacher".
ReplyDeleteStrange...
